Custódio Jacinto was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Emílio Vasques showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 23 minute of play. In the 26th match minute, Worcester AF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edmundo Duarte to maneuver through the defense. 27 minutes into the game, Rayleigh City's Miguel Malafaia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Polido made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lourenço Mendes during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Rayleigh City booed when Worcester AF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Custódio Jacinto came out of the goal and Paulo Dikaté tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 32 minutes into the match, Rolando Carvoeiro notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Rayleigh City's Custódio Jacinto. Custódio Jacinto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nuno Chafes struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. In the 37th minute, Paulo Dikaté got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Worcester AF's Paulo Dikaté was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 41st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. 45 minutes into the match, Rayleigh City's goalkeeper Custódio Jacinto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rolando Carvoeiro. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paulo Dikaté in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Custódio Jacinto prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paulo Dikaté to make the kick off. After 52 minutes, Paulo Dikaté made it 5-1 with a short kick to the right side. Rayleigh City's Custódio Jacinto tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Paulo Dikaté fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Custódio Jacinto having to interfere. After 62 minutes, Paulo Dikaté made it 7-1 with a short kick to the right side. Rayleigh City's Custódio Jacinto tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Varanda in the 66th minute of play forced Rayleigh City's goalkeeper Custódio Jacinto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulo Dikaté sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Custódio Jacinto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rolando Carvoeiro in the 75th minute of the match. Marcelo Varanda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Custódio Jacinto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paulo Dikaté's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Custódio Jacinto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emílio Vasques went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 8-1 was the resulting score. If Emílio Vasques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Afonso Meneses sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rolando Carvoeiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Custódio Jacinto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rolando Carvoeiro ran back to his position shaking his head. Worcester AF's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
