Spectators: 6949 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1949, VIP seats: 0) Ailton Amado made the kick off and thus started the match. 8 minutes into the match, Penistone City's goalkeeper David Barreiros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vítor Rebello. Alda De Matos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pompílio De Matos, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 13th minute, Pompílio De Matos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alda De Matos was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Vítor Rebello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 22 played minutes Hove AFC got a freekick which was hit by Hélio Carvoeiro. Hipólito Fonseca shot a long shot in the 22nd minute and a light blocked Alda De Matos hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 0-2. David Barreiros was out of position in the 28 minute of play, and Paulo Akwa capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Paulo Akwa really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Afonso Dos Santos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paulo Akwa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Barreiros having to interfere. When Jorge Gonçalves came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Hove AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Gonçalves couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paulo Akwa was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 56 minutes, Pompílio De Matos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Penistone City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pompílio De Matos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 57th minute, Fábio Meneses hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alda De Matos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ailton Amado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 67th minute of the match, Pompílio De Matos got a very nice opportunity to score, but Alda De Matos was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Vítor Rebello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 71 minutes into the match, Hove AFC's Vítor Rebello sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that David Barreiros narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Teodoro Quilempan fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Penistone City's protests and gave Teodoro Quilempan a yellow card for diving instead. Teodoro Quilempan kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. David Barreiros came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Hove AFC's Paulo Akwa. But to his dismay, Paulo Akwa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. 77 minutes into the match, Hove AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Pompílio De Matos came free, but Alda De Matos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jorge Gonçalves hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. In the 82nd minute of the match Penistone City got a corner. Hove AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Hipólito Fonseca ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Hipólito Fonseca got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Alda De Matos quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a defensive mix-up in Penistone City's zone, Vítor Rebello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Barreiros came out of the goal and Vítor Rebello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Hove AFC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Penistone City's performance. The match ended with a win for Penistone City.
