The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Carlos Montoia hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Toni Dos Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toni Caetano in the 7th minute of the match. Emílio Fontão came free with the goalkeeper in the 31st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Toni Dos Santos could save by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Holmfirth City's zone, Toni Caetano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Toni Dos Santos came out of the goal and Toni Caetano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emílio Fontão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Toni Dos Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Hortêncio Cunha came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Holmfirth City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hortêncio Cunha couldn't finish the play. When Holmfirth City's Hortêncio Cunha in the 48th minute got a chance for a shot 48th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Eastfield's goalie prevented a goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hortêncio Cunha to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Saúl Correia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toni Dos Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Henrique Lando received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Luís Duarte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Henrique Lando got free with Luís Duarte in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eastfield's Luís Duarte proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Eastfield from getting a goal against them. Luís Duarte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hortêncio Cunha in the 59th minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, Eastfield's goalkeeper Luís Duarte had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Henrique Lando. After a rather tough play, Eastfield's Cláudio Caetano got a free kick in the 61st minute. Luís Duarte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henrique Lando, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Emílio Fontão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Holmfirth City getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Toni Dos Santos hit a great ball. 78 minutes into the match, Eastfield's goal looked a bit too open when Hortêncio Cunha came free, but Luís Duarte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Henrique Lando could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Luís Duarte made a huge save. Luís Duarte made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Henrique Lando sent off a good shot on target. Holmfirth City's Henrique Lando got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Eastfield's Luís Duarte got control of the ball when Henrique Lando tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hortêncio Cunha was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 97th minute. Holmfirth City's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The Holmfirth City supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Holmfirth City would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
