Balduíno Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Duarte having to interfere. In the 33rd minute Nuno Ericeira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Duarte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Balduíno Fonseca in the 42nd minute of play forced Eastfield's goalkeeper Luís Duarte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nuno Ericeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Duarte having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nuno Ericeira made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Whitby's Rodrigo Rebello got a free kick in the 53rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toni Caetano in the 57th minute of play forced Whitby's goalkeeper Edmundo Fontão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Saúl Correia hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Balduíno Fonseca came free with the goalkeeper in the 82nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Luís Duarte could save by the left post. Custódio Galão kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. In the 88th minute of the match Afonso Pereira shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edmundo Fontão showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Edmundo Fontão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toni Caetano in the 90th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emílio Fontão in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edmundo Fontão saved Whitby from getting behind. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Whitby eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
