When Teta Pedrosa came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Braunton fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teta Pedrosa couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, FC VALENTES's Hector Felício got a free kick in the 29th minute. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Tozé Mendes took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Carlos Serineu to make any attempt to save it. Marcelo Gonçalves struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Carlos Serineu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC VALENTES. Marcelo Gonçalves who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 45thth minute tested the skills of Carlos Serineu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Tozé Mendes came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the FC VALENTES fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tozé Mendes couldn't finish the play. Carlos Serineu made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Marcelo Gonçalves sent off a good shot on target. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 52nd minute Marcelo Gonçalves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Serineu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to FC VALENTES getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Rolando Akwa hit a great ball. In the 60th minute of the match Fábio Moco shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Simão Curvelo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Alão Areosa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Braunton's supporters rose to their feet, but Alão Areosa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Simão Curvelo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind FC VALENTES's goalkeeper Simão Curvelo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marcelo Gonçalves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Serineu having to interfere. Braunton's Carlos Serineu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tozé Mendes in the 70th minute of play. Carlos Serineu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tozé Mendes, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. When Rui Rebello fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC VALENTES's protests and gave Rui Rebello a yellow card for diving instead. Rui Rebello kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Tozé Mendes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Teta Pedrosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rui Rebello hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. 98 minutes into the match, Edmundo Chafes notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of FC VALENTES's Simão Curvelo. Simão Curvelo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
