Rui Lima Clemente came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Hedge End FC's Cláudio Nascimento. But to his dismay, Cláudio Nascimento quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 23rd match minute, Hedge End FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodrigo Ericeira to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luís Malheiro during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Albertino Simões 's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hélio Nascimento read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. Lourenço Lourenço ran back to his position shaking his head. If Albertino Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cláudio Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Rui Lima Clemente tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zé Pedrosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Albertino Simões stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Zé Pedrosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Pedrosa in the 57th minute of play forced Otterham AFC's goalkeeper Rui Lima Clemente to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Albertino Simões in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hélio Nascimento saved Hedge End FC from getting behind. Lourenço Lourenço fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélio Nascimento having to interfere. In the 63rd minute, Zé Pedrosa fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Rui Lima Clemente, passed just outside the right post. Cláudio Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 88th minute Zé Pedrosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rui Lima Clemente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hélio Nascimento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albertino Simões in the 89th minute of play. Zé Pedrosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hedge End FC played a much better game than Otterham AFC and deserved their victory. The Otterham AFC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
