Gregório Dikaté struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Nuno Curvelo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The destroyers. After 18 played minutes Runcorn got a freekick which was hit by Rui Cruz. Runcorn's Luís Ermida got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ivó Montinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Custódio Canales in the 22nd minute of play. Nito Dos Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Nuno Curvelo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ivó Montinho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luís Ermida's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. In the 88th minute, Miguel Caneças hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Luís Ermida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Runcorn were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of The destroyers for a fine match.
