Ivó Gonçalves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Eduardo Nascimento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eduardo Nascimento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivó Gonçalves in the 17th minute of the match. Birkenhead's Pedro Bouça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Abelaira in the 26th minute of play. Magno Samakuva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pedro Bouça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Carvoeiro in the 39th minute of the match. Miguel Abelaira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ivó Gonçalves to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute, Custódio Pedrosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luís Freire charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luís Freire the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 61 played minutes Marvel FC got a freekick which was hit by Luís Freire. In the 63rd minute, Ivó Gonçalves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Marvel FC's Rodrigo Quilempan got a free kick in the 65th minute. When Ivó Gonçalves came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Birkenhead fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivó Gonçalves couldn't finish the play. When Birkenhead's Ivó Gonçalves in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Marvel FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 80th minute, Ivó Gonçalves ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eduardo Nascimento was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. A collision led to Birkenhead getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Custódio Pedrosa hit a great ball. Marvel FC's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Birkenhead had won, even though Marvel FC had held more of the ball.
