Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 12 minutes into the match, Altonsdf's Emílio Almeida sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that João Carlos Serineu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Wheaton Aston United's João Carlos Serineu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Vila-Santa in the 13th minute of play. Hipólito Duarte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar Polido in the 15th minute of the match. Sebastián Chivukuvuku received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. João Carlos Serineu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tiago Malheiro's late challenge caught a Wheaton Aston United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tiago Malheiro helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Altonsdf's Tiago Malheiro got a free kick in the 25th minute. After 27 minutes of play, Altonsdf's Rogério Jacinto made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. João Carlos Serineu was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Wheaton Aston United getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Edgar Polido hit a great ball. Manuel Abelaira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. João Carlos Serineu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manuel Abelaira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without João Carlos Serineu having to make a save. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paulo Valies was the one to do the kick off. When Eduardo Canales fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wheaton Aston United's protests and gave Eduardo Canales a yellow card for diving instead. João Carlos Serineu made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Emílio Almeida sent off a good shot on target. João Carlos Serineu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Manuel Abelaira in the 60th minute. João Carlos Serineu came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Altonsdf's Teta Clérigo. But to his dismay, Teta Clérigo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. In the 66th match minute, Wheaton Aston United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edmundo Dos Santos to maneuver through the defense. Manuel Vila-Santa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Carlos Serineu having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Emílio Almeida's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but João Carlos Serineu was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. Ambrósio Barreiros charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ambrósio Barreiros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ambrósio Barreiros kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Emílio Almeidas short, quick shot in the 72ndth minute got João Carlos Serineu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Teta Clérigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 79 minutes into the match, Wheaton Aston United's goal looked a bit too open when Rogério Jacinto came free, but João Carlos Serineu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 81st minute, Wheaton Aston United's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Manuel Vila-Santa fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. João Carlos Serineu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emílio Almeida's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Rogério Jacinto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emílio Almeida received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. João Carlos Serineu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedro Montinho took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 94th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for João Carlos Serineu. Wheaton Aston United's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Altonsdf left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Wheaton Aston United.
