Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Joseph Takane got the match started through his kick off. Joseph Takane's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Madolo Dube read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. Madolo Dube showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joseph Takane in the 9th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the match, FC Willowdale's goalkeeper Madolo Dube had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mpenza Dinha. After having played for 14 minutes, Dean Mhlongo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Willowdale's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dean Mhlongo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Mpenza Dinha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varty's supporters rose to their feet, but Mpenza Dinha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Madolo Dube breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Papi Radebe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Allan Bartlett in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 24th minute, Dean Mhlongo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Willowdale fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. A hard shot 27 in the game by Mpenza Dinha from a close distance when the talented Madolo Dube managed to make a qualified save. FC Willowdale's players were relieved. Mpenza Dinha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Allan Bartlett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Papi Radebe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dean Mhlongo in the 33rd minute of play. Varty's Papi Radebe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Allan Bartlett in the 34th minute of play. Joseph Takane received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Madolo Dube tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, FC Willowdale's Soloman Bandura got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Madolo Dube didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 44th minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Allan Bartlett in the 47th minute of play forced Varty's goalkeeper Papi Radebe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Allan Bartlett to make the kick off. Dean Mhlongo might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Papi Radebe. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dean Mhlongo ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Varty's zone, Dean Mhlongo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Papi Radebe came out of the goal and Dean Mhlongo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 57 minutes into the match, FC Willowdale's goal looked a bit too open when Mpenza Dinha came free, but Madolo Dube reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mpenza Dinha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Madolo Dube tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Promise Machete kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. After having played for 75 minutes, Allan Bartlett managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Willowdale's supporters crossed their fingers, but Allan Bartlett was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Papi Radebe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Allan Bartlett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joseph Takane fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Madolo Dube having to interfere. Allan Bartlett recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
