FC Kenmore's Dean Nhlapo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Dean Nhlapo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Themba Bartlett in the 12th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the match, FC Kenmore's goal looked a bit too open when Themba Bartlett came free, but Dean Nhlapo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Boyisana Okpara in the 22ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Boyisani Collins, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a defensive mix-up in Welgevonden's zone, Boyisana Okpara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Boyisani Collins came out of the goal and Boyisana Okpara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kingston Kubheka recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 38th minute of the match, Kingston Kubheka tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Boyisani Collins saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Noxolo Konza fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Welgevonden's protests and gave Noxolo Konza a yellow card for diving instead. Noxolo Konza kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. FC Kenmore's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joseph Tau in the 42nd minute. The corner led FC Kenmore's Joseph Tau to fire away a dangerous shot which Boyisani Collins despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Boyisani Collins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lindo Thebile in the 44th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Themba Bartlett to make the kick off. When Welgevonden's Themba Bartlett in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Boyisani Collins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Boyisana Okpara in the 65th minute of play. When Madolo Kekana fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Welgevonden's protests and gave Madolo Kekana a yellow card for diving instead. After 68 played minutes Welgevonden got a freekick which was hit by Madolo Kekana. In the 69th minute of the match Joseph Tau sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Boyisani Collins skillfully saved the ball. Kingston Kubheka struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Boyisani Collins didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Kenmore. After having played for 90 minutes, Patrice Mkhonza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Kenmore's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patrice Mkhonza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Welgevonden supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Welgevonden would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
