Harry Thabang hit a great ball. Welgevonden's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Madolo Kekana in the 12th minute. Madolo Kekana made a great header on Welgevonden's corner, it was just that Zolile FC's Basil Mfeke managed to reach the ball for a save. With an all-out effort, Zolile FC's Boyisani Collins threw himself towards the right post 15 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Silas Mumede, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Stanton Magakula received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Basil Mfeke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Steve Kubheka got free with Boyisani Collins in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 31 minutes into the match, Zolile FC's goal looked a bit too open when Themba Bartlett came free, but Basil Mfeke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Harry Thabang fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zolile FC's protests and gave Harry Thabang a yellow card for diving instead. Basil Mfeke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Themba Bartlett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute, Zolile FC's Silas Mumede dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Steve Kubheka got free with Boyisani Collins in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

52 minutes into the match, Silas Mumede notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Welgevonden's Boyisani Collins. Boyisani Collins was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Steve Kubheka fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boyisani Collins having to interfere. Boyisani Collins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silas Mumede, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Themba Bartletts short, quick shot in the 64thth minute got Basil Mfeke to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Zolile FC's Silas Mumede got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Steve Kubheka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Welgevonden's zone, Steve Kubheka stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Boyisani Collins came out of the goal and Steve Kubheka tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Silas Mumede hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. When Silas Mumede got the opportunity to take care of a free kick it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball went too high, a missed opportunity for Zolile FC. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Zolile FC had played much better football throughout.
