Spectators: 6854 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1854, VIP seats: 0) Mfanta's Kingston Magakula started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the match, Jabu Vanker notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Mfanta's Lindo Mokhasi. Lindo Mokhasi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 7th match minute, Wapadspoort was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mawetu Takane to maneuver through the defense. Johann Pretorius, 8 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Jeff Mandela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kingston Magakula in the 9th minute of play. 10 minutes into the game, Lesego Stoltz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wapadspoort's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mfanta the free kick. In the 11th minute, Lesego Stoltz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Enock Bartlett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeff Mandela having to interfere. Jeff Mandela was a little too slow when Enock Bartlett got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 25th minute. The score was now 1-1. Enock Bartlett blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jeff Mandela having to make a save. Mawetu Takane hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. 31 minutes into the match, Mfanta's Kingston Magakula sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jeff Mandela narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Wapadspoort's Jeff Mandela proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Wapadspoort from getting a goal against them. Lesego Stoltz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd minute, Jabu Vanker got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Mfanta booed when Wapadspoort was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fuzile Macheke didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 47th play minute Enock Bartlett came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Jeff Mandela. 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jabu Vanker stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Wapadspoort got a freekick which was hit by Alfred Madiba. In the 56th minute Kingston Magakula shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeff Mandela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mfanta's Lindo Mokhasi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Basil Thebe in the 71st minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Lesego Stoltz could shoot a difficult shot in the 74th minute, which Lindo Mokhasi however easily saved by the left post. Wapadspoort's Jeff Mandela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enock Bartlett in the 77th minute of play. Jabu Vanker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lindo Mokhasi having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Wapadspoort's Jabu Vanker slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lindo Mokhasi. That made the score 2-2 after 90 minutes of play. If Jabu Vanker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
