But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gordon Josephs couldn't finish the play. 13 minutes into the match, FC Arniston's goal looked a bit too open when Anton Mandla came free, but Sanjay Lekgwathi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sanjay Lekgwathi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anton Mandla's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Gordon Josephs's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 17thth minute, Sanjay Lekgwathi skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 24 minutes into the match, Embotyi's goal looked a bit too open when Bomikaze Modise came free, but Maseti Etafia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anton Mandla charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anton Mandla the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Thomas Arendse's late challenge caught a FC Arniston's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thomas Arendse helped the player get up and apologised.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bomikaze Modise was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Embotyi's David Madiya got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 55th minute, Legako Inguana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 56 minutes into the match, Embotyi's goalkeeper Maseti Etafia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lesego Klaasens. Gordon Josephs might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sanjay Lekgwathi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gordon Josephs ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andre Mkhonza in the 66th minute of play forced FC Arniston's goalkeeper Sanjay Lekgwathi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 79 minutes of play, Embotyi's Anton Mandla made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sanjay Lekgwathi was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 83 minutes, Bomikaze Modise managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Arniston's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bomikaze Modise was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sanjay Lekgwathi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anton Mandla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bomikaze Modise fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maseti Etafia having to interfere. In the 95th match minute, Embotyi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Madiya to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Embotyi fans cheered their team off the field, for while FC Arniston had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
