Spectators: 6861 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1861, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Kingston Mandela took the kick off in the first half of the match. The supporters of Bute booed when FC Mamphokgo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mthunzi Stoltz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ismail Modipa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Patrick Nhlapo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cornell Edwards in the 11th minute. Milton Madiba's late challenge caught a Bute's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Milton Madiba helped the player get up and apologised. In the 12th match minute, FC Mamphokgo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Milton Madiba to maneuver through the defense. Bute's Tebogo Mncube played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boyisana Mahlangu in the 17th minute of play. In the 17th minute, William Kolwa had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. In the 18th match minute, Bute was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thomas Ngake to maneuver through the defense. Cornell Edwards recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cornell Edwards sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC Mamphokgo's Patrick Nhlapo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kingston Mandela in the 26th minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Cornell Edwards got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Patrick Nhlapo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kingston Mandela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ismail Modipa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Patrick Nhlapo made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Cornell Edwards sent off a good shot on target. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Tebogo Mncube was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ismail Modipa showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-1 in the 51 minute of play. After 56 minutes, Norman Tshabalala mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bute and the FC Mamphokgo players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 56 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Bute! Bute's Kingston Mandela got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thomas Ngake hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. 67 minutes into the match, Bute's Cornell Edwards sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Patrick Nhlapo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 69th minute, Kingston Mandela got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cornell Edwards's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Patrick Nhlapo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kingston Mandela in the 78th minute of play forced FC Mamphokgo's goalkeeper Patrick Nhlapo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ismail Modipa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 86 minutes into the game, Bute's Kingston Mandela nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Patrick Nhlapo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Cornell Edwards fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrick Nhlapo having to interfere. Kingston Mandela's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Patrick Nhlapo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FC Mamphokgo eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
