Spectators: 6944 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1944, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ismail Madiba got the match started through his kick off. Dean Mhlathe scored 0-1 in the 3rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lindo Strauss, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Wepener's goalkeeper Michael Edwards, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alex Mkhize received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Lindo Strauss tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mneketshe's Lindo Strauss played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Mkhize in the 12th minute of play. Alex Mkhize's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lindo Strauss read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Johann Mokhasi charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Johann Mokhasi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Johann Mokhasi kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. In the 28th minute Oliver Zwane shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lindo Strauss saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Oliver Zwane sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lindo Strauss showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Mkhize, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. In the 34th minute, Vuyo Mathibe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Oliver Zwane in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lindo Strauss saved Mneketshe from getting behind. In the 38th match minute, FC Wepener was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonas Tau to maneuver through the defense. When Justice Bartlett came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Mneketshe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Justice Bartlett couldn't finish the play. Dean Mhlathe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lindo Strauss having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Alex Mkhize made the kick off in the second half. FC Wepener's Michael Edwards played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ismail Madiba in the 52nd minute of play. When Oliver Zwane came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the FC Wepener fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oliver Zwane couldn't finish the play. Alex Mkhize fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lindo Strauss having to interfere. FC Wepener's Alex Mkhize got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ismail Madiba scored 1-1 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Michael Edwards, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 67 played minutes FC Wepener got a freekick which was hit by Dean Mhlathe. In the 68th minute of the match Jocob Josephs shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Michael Edwards showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Oliver Zwane fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lindo Strauss having to interfere. In the 76th minute, Alex Mkhize got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lindo Strauss showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Mkhize, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. The supporters of FC Wepener booed when Mneketshe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vuyo Mathibe didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 82nd minute Alex Mkhize shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lindo Strauss saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ismail Madiba might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Michael Edwards. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ismail Madiba ran back to his position shaking his head. 87 minutes into the game, Dean Mhlathe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Wepener's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mneketshe the free kick. In the 87th minute, Dean Mhlathe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jocob Josephs took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 88th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Michael Edwards. FC Wepener's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Justice Bartlett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ismail Madiba struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Michael Edwards didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mneketshe. In the 95th minute Alex Mkhize shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lindo Strauss saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mneketshe succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though FC Wepener had controlled the match.
