After having played for 33 minutes, Mpenza Vanker managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. DUNGA F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mpenza Vanker was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Thanyani Takane had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomas Macheke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thanyani Takane in the 43rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joseph Klaasens got free with Tomas Macheke in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Thanyani Takane's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tomas Macheke was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Thanyani Takane in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tomas Macheke prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Joseph Klaasens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomas Macheke having to interfere. In the 80th minute Thanyani Takane shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomas Macheke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joseph Klaasens struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Tomas Macheke didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Welgesien. Joseph Klaasens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
