Through an outstanding action, after 23 minutes, Sizwe Okpara successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Promise Mathibe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When David Patel came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the FC Ajax fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David Patel couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jomo Mokatimi in the 34th minute of play forced FC Gudeka's goalkeeper Charles Modise to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Charles Modise made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Patel in the 36th minute of play. Charles Modise took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Patel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sizwe Okpara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Promise Qabi, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Promise Qabi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Sizwe Okpara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The FC Gudeka players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC Ajax were winning 0-1.

Jomo Mokatimi charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jomo Mokatimi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of FC Gudeka booed when FC Ajax was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jomo Mokatimi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sizwe Okpara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Promise Qabi in the 58th minute of the match. Madolo Kekana's late challenge caught a FC Gudeka's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Madolo Kekana helped the player get up and apologised. After 62 played minutes FC Ajax got a freekick which was hit by Madolo Kekana. In the 63rd minute of the match Sizwe Mabele shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sizwe Okpara showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Promise Qabi struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Sizwe Okpara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Gudeka. In the 67th minute, David Patel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. David Patel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Charles Modise tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of FC Gudeka booed when FC Ajax was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Madolo Kekana didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sizwe Okpara didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Promise Qabi went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Promise Mathibe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sizwe Okpara having to interfere. Raymond Koen lost his temper 84 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 84 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FC Ajax! Jomo Mokatimi kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Sizwe Mabele took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 96th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sizwe Okpara. FC Ajax's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. FC Gudeka were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
