Sanjay Strauss struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Allan Mhlongo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Steelpoort. In the 13th minute, Ajax Amsterdam's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Mabusela Mhlathe fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 23rd minute Patrick Lekgwathi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lazarus Mothobi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Mabusela Mhlathe managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Steelpoort's supporters rose to their feet, but Mabusela Mhlathe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Allan Mhlongo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Ajax Amsterdam's zone, Eric Inguana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Allan Mhlongo came out of the goal and Eric Inguana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Eric Inguana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mabusela Mhlathe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Allan Mhlongo having to interfere. FC Steelpoort's Eric Inguana got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With his leg Allan Mhlongo managed to avoid a goal in the 40thth minute, when FC Steelpoort's Milton Vanker fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Bradley Tau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jafta Nauseb to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute, Mabusela Mhlathe left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Steelpoort fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. With a little luck, FC Steelpoort's Lazarus Mothobi got control of the ball when Patrick Lekgwathi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eric Inguana recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 66 minutes into the match, Ajax Amsterdam's Patrick Lekgwathi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lazarus Mothobi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ajax Amsterdam's Allan Mhlongo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mabusela Mhlathe in the 68th minute of play. Patrick Lekgwathi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lazarus Mothobi having to interfere. In the 72nd minute Jafta Nauseb shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lazarus Mothobi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bradley Tau kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Allan Mhlongo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mabusela Mhlathe's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. Ajax Amsterdam's Allan Mhlongo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mabusela Mhlathe in the 81st minute of play. Allan Mhlongo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mabusela Mhlathe in the 84th minute of the match. In the 88th minute, Mabusela Mhlathe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. FC Steelpoort were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
