Seating: 1941, VIP seats: 168) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Cornell Takane kicked off to start the match. 7 minutes into the match, Soutpomp's goal looked a bit too open when Maluleke Mathibe came free, but Elias Modipa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Boyisana Laher had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Delron Klaasens. Nino FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Boyisana Laher was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 20th minute, Henry Khomane got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Nino FC booed when Soutpomp was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boyisana Laher didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elias Modipa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maluleke Mathibe in the 30th minute of the match. Maluleke Mathibe struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Elias Modipa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nino FC. If Cornell Takane had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Boyisana Laher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Maluleke Mathibe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elias Modipa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maluleke Mathibe, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Maluleke Mathibe made a kick off. Boyisana Laher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Delron Klaasens having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Maluleke Mathibe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nino FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Maluleke Mathibe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elias Modipa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 66th match minute, Soutpomp was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Klein to maneuver through the defense. After 77 minutes, Freddie Mkhize mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nino FC and the Soutpomp players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Nino FC's Freddie Mkhize got a free kick in the 78th minute. Wycliffe Mumede, 79 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Henry Khomane sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 88 minutes into the match, Maluleke Mathibe dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Elias Modipa, 1-1. After taking down the ball on Nino FC's corner Boyisana Mkhonza fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Elias Modipa quite easily take care of the ball. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
