Spectators: 8560 (Terracing: 6421, Seating: 1968, VIP seats: 171) Cornell Takane made the kick off and thus started the match. After a good free kick, Jikolo Qabi got an opportunity to smash the ball into the goal, but unfortunately, the ball went just outside the goal, which resulted in a goal kick for Soutpomp. Soutpomp's Elias Modipa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michael Mothobi in the 12th minute of play. In the 13th minute Cornell Takane shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Siyabonge Ntsume saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jikolo Qabi struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Elias Modipa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ihluku. Elias Modipa came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Ihluku's Jikolo Qabi. But to his dismay, Jikolo Qabi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Jikolo Qabi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute, Wycliffe Mumede hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Soutpomp's zone, Simamane Tau stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elias Modipa came out of the goal and Simamane Tau tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Elias Modipa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jikolo Qabi in the 33rd minute of play. Jikolo Qabi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Elias Modipa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Michael Mothobi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elias Modipa having to interfere. 44 minutes into the game, Wycliffe Mumede was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Soutpomp's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ihluku the free kick. The supporters of Ihluku booed when Soutpomp was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wycliffe Mumede didn't get a good kick on the ball. Papi Melele's late challenge caught a Soutpomp's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Papi Melele helped the player get up and apologised. After 45 played minutes Ihluku got a freekick which was hit by Papi Melele. Jikolo Qabi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elias Modipa having to make a save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Jikolo Qabi made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Papi Melele managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ihluku's supporters rose to their feet, but Papi Melele was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elias Modipa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Ihluku's zone, Boyisana Laher stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Siyabonge Ntsume came out of the goal and Boyisana Laher tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ihluku's Siyabonge Ntsume played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cornell Takane in the 91st minute of play. Papi Melele's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elias Modipa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play.
