Lucky Kanku didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Mpangane. If Lungie Fredericks had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Lungie Fredericks came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the FC Mpangane fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lungie Fredericks couldn't finish the play. 23 minutes into the match, Boegoeberg's goal looked a bit too open when Cornell Liau came free, but Lucky Kanku reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute, Gary Magagane hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 26th minute, Bradley Setlaba made a precise shot to the right of Mawetu Setlaba. FC Mpangane's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Cornell Liau hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Boegoeberg were furious when Gary Magagane was red carded, 33 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Stanton Fortuin kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Maxwell Mkhize was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 40th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Mawetu Setlaba made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Lungie Kubheka sent off a good shot on target. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Thabile Macheke was the one to do the kick off. If Stanton Fortuin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 54 minutes, Thabile Macheke managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Boegoeberg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thabile Macheke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 56 minutes into the match, Boegoeberg's goalkeeper Lucky Kanku had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rabelani Nkadimeng. In the 58th minute Bradley Setlaba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mawetu Setlaba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jason Bartlett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was beautiful to see Boegoeberg's Stanton Fortuin in action when he in the 68th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Lucky Kanku made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lungie Fredericks in the 73rd minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, FC Mpangane's goal looked a bit too open when Lungie Kubheka came free, but Mawetu Setlaba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thabile Macheke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Mpenza Webb came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Boegoeberg fans jumped to their feet. Stanton Fortuin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mawetu Setlaba having to interfere. 86 minutes into the match, Boegoeberg's Lungie Kubheka sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mawetu Setlaba narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Thabile Macheke managed to get in a good position for a shot. Boegoeberg's supporters rose to their feet, but Thabile Macheke was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mawetu Setlaba breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of FC Mpangane booed when Boegoeberg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stanton Fortuin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 95 minutes, Thabile Macheke managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Boegoeberg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thabile Macheke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mawetu Setlaba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thabile Macheke, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Boegoeberg lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
