Alpheus Takane was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alpheus Takane showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ismail Okpara, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Tebogo Mhlathe's late challenge caught a Kift boys f.c's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tebogo Mhlathe helped the player get up and apologised. Tebogo Mhlathe hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. The supporters of Umzumbe booed when Kift boys f.c was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rabelani Maduna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tebogo Mhlathe scored 1-2 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alpheus Takane, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ismail Okpara was the one to do the kick off. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ismail Okpara couldn't finish the play. After having played for 65 minutes, Tebogo Mhlathe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Umzumbe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tebogo Mhlathe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tebogo Mhlathe's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Alpheus Takane firmly grabbed it by the left post. Ismail Okpara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
