With a little luck, FC Cepeni's Legako Arendse got control of the ball when Tebogo Mhlathe tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tebogo Mhlathe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Legako Arendse having to interfere. A hard shot 41 in the game by Tebogo Mhlathe from a close distance when the talented Legako Arendse managed to make a qualified save. FC Cepeni's players were relieved. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tebogo Mhlathe in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Legako Arendse saved FC Cepeni from getting behind. The Umzumbe fans' excitement grew in the 62nd match minute when Umzumbe's Tebogo Mhlathe looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Tebogo Mhlathe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanyani Phakathi's late challenge caught a FC Cepeni's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thanyani Phakathi helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Umzumbe fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 68th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 71 minutes, FC Cepeni's Jakob Mbule got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Norman Qabi. FC Cepeni's Legako Arendse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ismail Okpara in the 80th minute of play. If Tebogo Mhlathe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th match minute, FC Cepeni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joseph Sephiri to maneuver through the defense. The Umzumbe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. There was no doubt that Umzumbe were the better team. Umzumbe's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
