Blenheim's Shumani Khomane played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petru Buculeasa in the 16th minute of play. Blenheim's Shumani Khomane proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Blenheim from getting a goal against them. When Petru Buculeasa came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Highlanders FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Petru Buculeasa couldn't finish the play. If Petru Buculeasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 39 minutes, Petru Buculeasa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Highlanders FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Petru Buculeasa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Charles Serage hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. In the 46th minute, Thabile Thobejane made a precise shot to the right of Shumani Khomane. Blenheim's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

If Allan Shongwe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Norman Mathibe got free with Delron Thembe in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Highlanders FC getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Sam Mabele hit a great ball. After 56 minutes, Sam Mabele mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Highlanders FC and the Blenheim players grew even worse after the yellow card. Stanton Madiya took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 57th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Delron Thembe. Highlanders FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Delron Thembe made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Norman Mathibe sent off a good shot on target. If Petru Buculeasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Petru Buculeasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Shumani Khomane didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Thabile Thobejane went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Petru Buculeasa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shumani Khomane having to interfere. When Hoadley Mbheki fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Blenheim's protests and gave Hoadley Mbheki a yellow card for diving instead. After 77 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Blenheim! 86 minutes into the game, Highlanders FC's Petru Buculeasa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Shumani Khomane made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. In the 89th minute, Freddie Tshabalala hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Norman Mathibe received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Delron Thembe came out and tried to block the shot, but Norman Mathibe slotted it home off the left post making it 4-1 in the 98th minute. In the 101st minute, Petru Buculeasa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 102nd minute of the match Mawetu Thobejane sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Delron Thembe skillfully saved the ball.
