FC Kruisvallei's Merlin Taine played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mpenza Collins in the 11th minute of play. If Jakob Nhlapo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute, FC Kruisvallei's Gérard Deroubaix ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Phillip Mkhize. Phillip Mkhize yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Merlin Taine made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mpenza Collins in the 24th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mpenza Collins in the 29th minute of play forced FC Kruisvallei's goalkeeper Merlin Taine to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner led to Skull Breakers's Lucas Josephs getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 38th minute Mpenza Collins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Merlin Taine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lazarus King recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mpenza Collins stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Mpenza Collins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jakob Nhlapo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Merlin Taine made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Jakob Nhlapo sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Skull Breakers defense, Gérard Deroubaix kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Phillip Mkhize. The Skull Breakers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Phillip Mkhize should have stopped the shot. Mpenza Collins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, FC Kruisvallei's Cornell Komani got a free kick in the 68th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jakob Nhlapo got free with Merlin Taine in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jakob Nhlapo made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 72ndth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Merlin Taine would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jakob Nhlapo got free with Merlin Taine in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Skull Breakers's zone, Lazarus King stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Phillip Mkhize came out of the goal and Lazarus King tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jakob Nhlapo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 85 minutes into the match, Jakob Nhlapo notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of FC Kruisvallei's Merlin Taine. Merlin Taine was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Merlin Taine made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mpenza Collins in the 88th minute of play. If Jakob Nhlapo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. FC Kruisvallei's Gérard Deroubaix got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lazarus King fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phillip Mkhize having to interfere. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
