Thabile Mkhize fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Mangope having to interfere. Edries Liau fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Henriksson having to interfere. Tommy Henriksson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edries Liau in the 12th minute of the match. If Edries Liau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Samuel Komani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Tommy Henriksson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 23 minutes in the game, Samuel Komani fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Tommy Henriksson having to interfere. The supporters of Blue Sharks booed when Springbok was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johann Stoltz didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edries Liau in the 33rd minute of play forced Blue Sharks's goalkeeper Tommy Henriksson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Blue Sharks's Tommy Henriksson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Blue Sharks from getting a goal against them. Springbok's Bernard Thokozani was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Tommy Henriksson in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The Springbok players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Blue Sharks were winning 0-1.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edries Liau to make the kick off. Thomas Mbheki received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ivan Mangope came out and tried to block the shot, but Thomas Mbheki slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 53rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Samuel Komani in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tommy Henriksson saved Blue Sharks from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Springbok's zone, Thomas Mbheki stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivan Mangope came out of the goal and Thomas Mbheki tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Thomas Mbheki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69thth minute of the game Edries Liau who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Blue Sharks's Tommy Henriksson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Samuel Komani in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tommy Henriksson saved Blue Sharks from getting behind. Bradley Thwala's late challenge caught a Springbok's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bradley Thwala helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Blue Sharks's Bradley Thwala got a free kick in the 74th minute. Samuel Komani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Tommy Henriksson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Samuel Komani managed to get in a good position for a shot. Springbok's supporters rose to their feet, but Samuel Komani was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tommy Henriksson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ivan Mangope was a little too slow when Thomas Mbheki got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 80th minute. The score was now 0-3. 83 minutes into the match, Blue Sharks's Thomas Mbheki sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ivan Mangope narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Blue Sharks's zone, Samuel Komani stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommy Henriksson came out of the goal and Samuel Komani tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tommy Henriksson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edries Liau, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 89 minutes of play, Springbok's Edries Liau made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tommy Henriksson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Springbok's Edries Liau got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tommy Henriksson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edries Liau in the 97th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Blue Sharks walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
