After 5 minutes, Hassan Qabi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Glenside and the Blue Sharks players grew even worse after the yellow card. Patrice Mandela made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Thabile Mkhize sent off a good shot on target. Tommy Henriksson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rob Thebile, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th match minute, Glenside was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mpenza Stoltz to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Thomas Mbheki managed to get in a good position for a shot. Blue Sharks's supporters rose to their feet, but Thomas Mbheki was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Patrice Mandela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ricky Etafia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Glenside's Rob Thebile got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thabile Mkhize could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Patrice Mandela made a huge save. 35 minutes into the match, Ricky Etafia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tommy Henriksson. Blue Sharks's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ricky Etafia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Rob Thebile blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tommy Henriksson having to make a save. Hanile Josephs's late challenge caught a Glenside's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hanile Josephs helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Blue Sharks getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Hanile Josephs hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricky Etafia in the 42nd minute of play forced Blue Sharks's goalkeeper Tommy Henriksson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lucas Kubheka during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Thomas Mbheki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 66th minute, Thabile Mkhize got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Glenside's Hassan Qabi got a free kick in the 68th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hoadley Radebe during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 74th minute, Hoadley Radebe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rob Thebile recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Blue Sharks's Thabile Mkhize in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Glenside's goalie prevented a goal. 2-1 became the score in the 84th minute when Thomas Mbheki elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Rob Thebiles short, quick shot in the 90thth minute got Tommy Henriksson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 92nd minute Rob Thebile shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Henriksson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Glenside players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Blue Sharks.
