After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Meshack Mangope managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlantis FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Meshack Mangope was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maseti Qabi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. CHALAY FC's Maseti Qabi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Meshack Mangope in the 8th minute of play. 9 minutes into the match, CHALAY FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rob Maduna came free, but Maseti Qabi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Rob Maduna came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Atlantis FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rob Maduna couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Atlantis FC defense, Nick Mokhasi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edries Mayoyo. The Atlantis FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edries Mayoyo should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Atlantis FC's Alfred Klein got a free kick in the 17th minute. After recieving a nice pass, CHALAY FC's Kenny Mayoyo tried to score from far away in the 18th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Rob Maduna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Atlantis FC's Rob Maduna in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye CHALAY FC's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of CHALAY FC booed when Atlantis FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johannes Nauseb didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd minute, Rob Maduna reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Maseti Qabi. The goal made the score 1-1. Johannes Nauseb struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Maseti Qabi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlantis FC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Papi Setlaba in the 45th minute of play forced Atlantis FC's goalkeeper Edries Mayoyo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edries Mayoyo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nick Mokhasi, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nick Mokhasi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nick Mokhasi in the 55th minute of play forced Atlantis FC's goalkeeper Edries Mayoyo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rob Maduna hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. After having played for 62 minutes, Mpenza Mokatimi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CHALAY FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mpenza Mokatimi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of CHALAY FC booed when Atlantis FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Shumani Nhlapo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 64th minute of the match Kenny Mayoyo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edries Mayoyo skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rob Maduna in the 65th minute of play forced CHALAY FC's goalkeeper Maseti Qabi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 69 minutes of play, Atlantis FC's Ivan Serage made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Maseti Qabi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Edries Mayoyo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mpenza Mokatimi in the 75th minute. Papi Setlaba could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Edries Mayoyo made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Atlantis FC's Johannes Nauseb got a free kick in the 80th minute. In the 85th minute Johannes Nauseb shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maseti Qabi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rob Maduna struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Maseti Qabi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlantis FC. After having played for 98 minutes, Johannes Nauseb managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlantis FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Johannes Nauseb was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Atlantis FC had played much better football throughout.
