The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Albert Ngake took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thabo Mbheki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FINAL BATTLE FC's Albert Ngake played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thabo Mbheki in the 11th minute of play. Albert Ngake showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrick Maduna, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. After some careless play in the FINAL BATTLE FC defense, Patrick Maduna kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Albert Ngake. The FINAL BATTLE FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Albert Ngake should have stopped the shot. In the 25th minute Thabo Mbheki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albert Ngake saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Welgevonden's Bomikaze Mafuna got a free kick in the 30th minute. Patrick Maduna charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patrick Maduna the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of FINAL BATTLE FC booed when Welgevonden was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrick Maduna didn't get a good kick on the ball. 37 minutes into the game, Welgevonden's Nelson Sewele nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Albert Ngake made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. 40 minutes into the game, Bradley Madima was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Welgevonden's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FINAL BATTLE FC the free kick. The supporters of FINAL BATTLE FC booed when Welgevonden was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bradley Madima didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lucky Setlaba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 48 minutes into the match, FINAL BATTLE FC's goal looked a bit too open when Thabo Mbheki came free, but Albert Ngake reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Rafael Mahlangu made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, FINAL BATTLE FC's Albert Ngake got control of the ball when Thabo Mbheki tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee ignored FINAL BATTLE FC's protests and gave Solly Radebe a yellow card for diving instead. FINAL BATTLE FC's Albert Ngake proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save FINAL BATTLE FC from getting a goal against them. Nelson Sewele received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Albert Ngake tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thabo Mbheki succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-5 in the 64th playminute. Albert Ngake dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. 80 minutes into the match, FINAL BATTLE FC's goal looked a bit too open when Thabo Mbheki came free, but Albert Ngake reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Kenny Sono kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Albert Ngake. That made the score 0-7 in the 93 minute of play. After a rather tough play, FINAL BATTLE FC's Bomikaze Fredericks got a free kick in the 96th minute. Welgevonden's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
