Mawetu Stoltz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wycliffe Mathibe having to make a save. When Jomo Etafia came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Sev7en Stars fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jomo Etafia couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mawetu Stoltz in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wycliffe Mathibe saved Lukolweni from getting behind. Silas Radebe didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jocob Kekana went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. When Jocob Kekana fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lukolweni's protests and gave Jocob Kekana a yellow card for diving instead. In the 23rd match minute, Lukolweni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jocob Kekana to maneuver through the defense. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lukolweni's goalkeeper Wycliffe Mathibe, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 26 minutes, Boyisana Kerns managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sev7en Stars's supporters crossed their fingers, but Boyisana Kerns was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jomo Etafia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Wycliffe Mathibe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mawetu Stoltz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wycliffe Mathibe having to interfere. 40 minutes into the game, Thabile Collins cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Wycliffe Mathibe was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thabile Collins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Silas Radebe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ebrahim Lekgwathi in the 46th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
After a rather tough play, Lukolweni's Mpho Strauss got a free kick in the 55th minute. 62 minutes in the game, Jomo Etafia fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Wycliffe Mathibe having to interfere. Boyisana Kerns received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Wycliffe Mathibe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Mawetu Stoltz came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Sev7en Stars fans jumped to their feet. Mawetu Stoltz was extremely unlucky when he, in the 72nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Sev7en Stars's Mawetu Stoltz got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 78th minute, Joseph Mahlangu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Lukolweni's Wycliffe Mathibe got control of the ball when Thabile Collins tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 83 played minutes, Lukolweni's Mpho Strauss shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Silas Radebe came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lukolweni reached it. Silas Radebe came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Lukolweni's Jocob Kekana. But to his dismay, Jocob Kekana quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Stanton Arendse hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Jomo Etafia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wycliffe Mathibe having to make a save. If Mawetu Stoltz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 91 minutes, Thabile Collins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sev7en Stars's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thabile Collins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Sev7en Stars getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Thabile Collins hit a great ball. Silas Radebe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ebrahim Lekgwathi, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The Lukolweni support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
