The audience was convinced that Thabile Nauseb's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nils-Emil Hermansson was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rob Khomane in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Promise Lekgwathi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 41 minutes into the game, Jomo Phakathi recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nils-Emil Hermansson. Jomo Phakathi showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Rob Khomane fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Promise Lekgwathi having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jomo Phakathi to strike the kick off in the second half. Gqeberha All Stars's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Theuns the free kick. Promise Lekgwathi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Theuns.
