Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Rob Sephiri got the match started through his kick off. 6 minutes into the match, Mzumbane's goal looked a bit too open when Rob Sephiri came free, but Freddie Mhlathe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Freddie Mhlathe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silas Collins in the 8th minute of play. 9 minutes into the match, Dane Kruger had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Freddie Mhlathe. Mzumbane's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dane Kruger was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Dylon Butler Yeats took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Freddie Mhlathe. Freddie Mhlathe dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. 16 minutes into the game, FC Johannesburg's Silas Collins nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Freddie Mhlathe made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Mzumbane's Freddie Mhlathe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silas Collins in the 19th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Nelson Thabang hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rob Sephiri in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Freddie Mhlathe prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Freddie Mhlathe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silas Collins in the 27th minute of play. Silas Collins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Freddie Mhlathe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Shumani Radebe's late challenge caught a FC Johannesburg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Shumani Radebe helped the player get up and apologised. In the 33rd minute, Shumani Radebe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Freddie Mhlathe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rob Sephiri in the 34th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, Rob Sephiri put it in 0-5 from a short distance just to the right of Freddie Mhlathe. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dane Kruger in the 40th minute of play forced Mzumbane's goalkeeper Freddie Mhlathe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, FC Johannesburg's Thomás Müller got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Shumani Radebe struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Árpád Mészáros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mzumbane. Rob Sephiri took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Freddie Mhlathe. Freddie Mhlathe dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Shumani Radebe to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Jason Smith hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dane Kruger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. FC Johannesburg made a substitution. Zane Blumenthal replaced Dane Kruger. In the 60th match minute, Mzumbane was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jason Smith to maneuver through the defense. FC Johannesburg's Zane Blumenthal got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. FC Johannesburg's Reinhardt Steyn was substituted for Rob Sephiri. The audience thought a goal was coming when Thomás Müller got free with Freddie Mhlathe in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Enock Fortuin hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Enock Fortuin kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. 75 minutes into the match, Mzumbane's goalkeeper Freddie Mhlathe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dylon Butler Yeats. Freddie Mhlathe didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zane Blumenthal went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-7 was the resulting score. Mzumbane's Freddie Mhlathe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Mzumbane from getting a goal against them. Freddie Mhlathe was out of position in the 80 minute of play, and Silas Collins capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Silas Collins really showed his touch with that goal: 0-8. Godfrey Pretorius sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 85th minute, Zane Blumenthal reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Freddie Mhlathe. The goal made the score 0-9. Bradley Mkhonza made in the 91st minute of the game a quick throw-in and Samuel Magakula immediately put the ball in play. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Zane Blumenthal managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Johannesburg's supporters rose to their feet, but Zane Blumenthal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Freddie Mhlathe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
