Pink saints's Henry Kolwa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Milton Mokatimi in the 15th minute of play. Shaheed Strauss kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Ricky Maduna was extremely unlucky when he, in the 20th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Henry Kolwa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Júnior Donatello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Pink saints's Etienne Sono got a free kick in the 27th minute. Bongi Mabele made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bomikaze Mufumadi in the 29th minute. A collision led to Pink saints getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Cornell Smith hit a great ball. Henry Kolwa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Milton Mokatimi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 38th minute, Cornell Smith reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Bongi Mabele. The goal made the score 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by William Sephadi in the 42nd minute of play forced Pink saints's goalkeeper Henry Kolwa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ricky Maduna made a kick off. If Maluleke Josephs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. Soloman Mangope's late challenge caught a Pink saints's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Soloman Mangope helped the player get up and apologised. 76 minutes into the match, Pink saints's goalkeeper Henry Kolwa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nick Takane. Bomikaze Mufumadi charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bomikaze Mufumadi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 77th match minute, Pink saints was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bomikaze Mufumadi to maneuver through the defense. In the 84th minute Cornell Tau shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henry Kolwa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Pink saints's Henry Kolwa got control of the ball when William Sephadi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bomikaze Mufumadi was shown his second yellow card after 88 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The Pink saints players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
