The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 8 played minutes Hotolos jk got a freekick which was hit by Severo Santander. The crowd rose to their feet as Rob Khomane kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Vuyo Dube. That made the score 1-0 in the 9 minute of play. Hotolos jk's Vuyo Dube played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rob Khomane in the 12th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severo Santander in the 13th minute of play forced Theuns's goalkeeper Nils-Emil Hermansson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nils-Emil Hermansson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Severo Santander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Takalani Steyn's late challenge caught a Theuns's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Takalani Steyn helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Hotolos jk's Takalani Steyn got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 25th match minute, Hotolos jk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Norman Miti to maneuver through the defense. Vuyo Dube took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rob Khomane, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hotolos jk's Vuyo Dube proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Hotolos jk from getting a goal against them. Rob Khomane blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vuyo Dube having to make a save. Jafta Okpara took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nils-Emil Hermansson. Nils-Emil Hermansson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Rob Khomane received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Vuyo Dube tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rob Khomane was extremely unlucky when he, in the 44th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Nils-Emil Hermansson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bilge Kağan Özaltay, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Severo Santander was the one to do the kick off. The Hotolos jk fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vuyo Dube should have stopped the shot. Theuns's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
