The audience thought a goal was coming when Mojmír Ligárt got free with Eugen Gomola in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eugen Gomola made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mojmír Ligárt in the 12th minute. In the 13th minute, Ivan Lučenič hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Mojmír Ligárt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marián Čambal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 41 minutes, Marián Čambal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sentenced snails FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marián Čambal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eugen Gomola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marián Čambal in the 44th minute of play. Mojmír Ligárt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugen Gomola having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Dušan Révai made the kick off in the second half. Ivan Grohovský received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Eugen Gomola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Sentenced snails FC defense, Laco Kamenec kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marek Miženko. The Sentenced snails FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marek Miženko should have stopped the shot. Marián Čambal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugen Gomola having to interfere. Marián Čambal's late challenge caught a Poniky's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marián Čambal helped the player get up and apologised. After 81 played minutes Sentenced snails FC got a freekick which was hit by Marián Čambal. When Dušan Révai came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Poniky fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dušan Révai couldn't finish the play. Eugen Gomola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mojmír Ligárt in the 89th minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, Sentenced snails FC's goalkeeper Marek Miženko had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Laco Kamenec. When the referee ended the match the Sentenced snails FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
