Richard Harabín fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pavol Lopata having to interfere. Ján Bodnár received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Pavol Lopata tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Matovce's Pavol Lopata played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ján Bodnár in the 43rd minute of play. If Richard Maslo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Richard Maslo was the one to do the kick off. Chanava FK's Daniel Uhrina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Maslo in the 51st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Richard Maslo in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Daniel Uhrina prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 65 minutes, Richard Harabín managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chanava FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Richard Harabín was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 67th minute, Jaromír Korn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Viktor Dulla during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Ján Bodnár had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pavol Lopata showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Harabín in the 86th minute of the match. In the 88th minute, Ján Bodnár left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chanava FK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Daniel Uhrina took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard Maslo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
