The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gabriel Koštialik during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 7th minute of the game. One of Sudince FK:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Podbiel:s goal. If Jozef Hujer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 14th match minute, Podbiel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Richard Kráľ to maneuver through the defense. Matúš Súľovský fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Guzmán having to interfere. After 21 played minutes Sudince FK got a freekick which was hit by Viktor Šlosár. Samo Szabó showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jozef Hujer in the 32nd minute of the match. If Albert Slota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Pataj kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Albert Slota got free with Samo Szabó in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simon Fedorík in the 39th minute of play forced Sudince FK's goalkeeper Daniel Guzmán to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Simon Fedorík's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Daniel Guzmán read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Albert Slota received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Samo Szabó tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jozef Hujer was the one to do the kick off. Sudince FK's Daniel Guzmán proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Sudince FK from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Podbiel booed when Sudince FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lubáš Plačko didn't get a good kick on the ball. Samo Szabó showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albert Slota in the 66th minute of the match. After having played for 67 minutes, Simon Fedorík managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Podbiel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Simon Fedorík was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jozef Hujer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Samo Szabó made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jozef Hujer in the 71st minute of play. After some careless play in the Sudince FK defense, Simon Fedorík kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Daniel Guzmán. The Sudince FK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Daniel Guzmán should have stopped the shot. When Jozef Hujer came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Sudince FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jozef Hujer couldn't finish the play. The attack was good, but when Matúš Súľovský in the 87th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Richard Kráľ received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Daniel Guzmán tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Podbiel supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Podbiel would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
