Marek Ondruš's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alojz Malinovský read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play.

In the 54th minute, Jozef Malík got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Jergus Valábik kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alojz Malinovský. That made the score 0-2 in the 61 minute of play. Marek Ondruš could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Alojz Malinovský made a huge save. Erik Kujan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Alojz Malinovský tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jozef Malík sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
