When Stanislav Gajdoš fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored TATRAN FC's protests and gave Stanislav Gajdoš a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Michalovce booed when TATRAN FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stanislav Gajdoš didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ondrej Šípoš recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gabriel Mareš's late challenge caught a Michalovce's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gabriel Mareš helped the player get up and apologised. In the 11th minute, Gabriel Mareš hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Matej Bogdanovský had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gejza Ducký showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ján Maška in the 26th minute of the match. After 26 played minutes TATRAN FC got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Mareš. If Matej Bogdanovský had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ján Maška recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 38 played minutes, Michalovce's Stanislav Plško shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gejza Ducký came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Michalovce reached it. In the 44th minute, Daniel Plačko ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Martin Turanec was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ján Maška to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Michalovce were awarded a corner. Stanislav Plško went to the cornerflag to take it. Michalovce's Stanislav Plško was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gejza Ducký in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 82nd minute, Ján Maška reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gejza Ducký. The goal made the score 1-1. Ján Maška received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Gejza Ducký tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ján Maška sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ondrej Šípoš blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Martin Turanec having to make a save. Michalovce's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
