Tatran HLOHOVEC's Rudolf Podracký played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tibor Lučenič in the 12th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, ŠK Ružomberok's goal looked a bit too open when Matej Hurt came free, but Albert Šroub reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, ŠK Ružomberok's Tomáš Mitro got a free kick in the 21st minute. If Tibor Lučenič had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matej Hurt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 38 minutes into the match, Tatran HLOHOVEC's Stano Lednický sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Albert Šroub narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Matej Hurt came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Tatran HLOHOVEC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matej Hurt couldn't finish the play. In the 43rd minute, Kosmas Vakalis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Matej Hurt might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Albert Šroub. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Matej Hurt ran back to his position shaking his head. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Matej Hurt made the kick off in the second half. Matej Hurt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albert Šroub having to interfere. Matej Hurt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to ŠK Ružomberok getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Tomáš Mitro hit a great ball. In the 64th minute, Stano Kliment hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stano Lednický struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Albert Šroub didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tatran HLOHOVEC. In the 72nd minute, Stano Lednický got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 76 minutes, Matej Hurt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tatran HLOHOVEC and the ŠK Ružomberok players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of ŠK Ružomberok booed when Tatran HLOHOVEC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matej Hurt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tibor Lučenič in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rudolf Podracký prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stano Kliment got free with Albert Šroub in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 82 minutes into the match, Tatran HLOHOVEC's goal looked a bit too open when Denis Kratochvíl came free, but Rudolf Podracký reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Matej Hurt took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Albert Šroub to make any attempt to save it. When the match was over Tatran HLOHOVEC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than ŠK Ružomberok throughout the match.
