After a defensive mix-up in Arnutovce's zone, Martin Mikuš stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juraj Želínsky came out of the goal and Martin Mikuš tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Gejza Uhrík had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marek Čontofalský hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. 25 minutes into the match, FC Vrútky's goal looked a bit too open when Jozef Hrabina came free, but Eugen Bačkor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gejza Uhrík could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Juraj Želínsky made a huge save. Through an outstanding action, after 34 minutes, Juraj Želínsky successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Ladislav Stanislav charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Eugen Bačkor didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arnutovce. Juraj Želínsky showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martin Mikuš, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Milan Zudor got free with Eugen Bačkor in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 63rd minute, Milan Zudor ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eugen Bačkor was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Milan Zudor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugen Bačkor having to interfere. The supporters of Arnutovce booed when FC Vrútky was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Róbert Tomko didn't get a good kick on the ball. Milan Zudor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugen Bačkor having to interfere. FC Vrútky's Gejza Uhrík got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eugen Bačkor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jozef Hrabina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
