Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Peter Fedor kicked off to start the match. Daniel Dowling made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Maroš Poláček sent off a good shot on target. Dušan Lopata kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. MŠK Žilina's supporters rose to their feet, but Dušan Lopata was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Daniel Dowling breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Trebichava's Tomáš Súkeľ got a free kick in the 20th minute. Daniel Dowling was a little too slow when Lukáš Kvietik got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 24th minute. The score was now 1-0. A hard shot 27 in the game by Maroš Poláček from a close distance when the talented Daniel Dowling managed to make a qualified save. Trebichava's players were relieved. Maroš Poláček fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Dowling having to interfere. In the 32nd match minute, MŠK Žilina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lukáš Kvietik to maneuver through the defense. Róbert Samák took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ladislav Koreň, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Peter Fedor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dušan Lopata recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Maroš Poláček got free with Daniel Dowling in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dušan Lopata stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Ladislav Koreň shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Róbert Samák saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 56 minutes into the match, Trebichava's goal looked a bit too open when Tomáš Pelikán came free, but Daniel Dowling reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Dušan Straka fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Trebichava's protests and gave Dušan Straka a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of MŠK Žilina booed when Trebichava was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dušan Straka didn't get a good kick on the ball. MŠK Žilina's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Trebichava the free kick. Lukáš Kvietik hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Daniel Dowling stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maroš Poláček's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. After 71 played minutes MŠK Žilina got a freekick which was hit by Dušan Tobiarčík. The supporters of MŠK Žilina booed when Trebichava was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ladislav Koreň didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 84th minute Dušan Lopata shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Dowling saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 87th minute, Peter Fedor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 92 minutes of play, MŠK Žilina's Pavol Bauer made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Daniel Dowling was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The MŠK Žilina fans cheered their team off the field, for while Trebichava had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
