In the 13th minute Eugen Poláček shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfred Škultéty saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC DH Kosice's Marek Sisák got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 24 played minutes Mšk Iskra Petržalka got a freekick which was hit by Dušan Marenčin. Gabriel Urdák scored 2-0 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Filip Vičík, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 37 minutes, Viktor Gaňa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC DH Kosice and the Mšk Iskra Petržalka players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 40th minute of the match Mšk Iskra Petržalka got a corner. FC DH Kosice's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Martin Žbírka ran over to the corner to take the kick. 43 minutes into the match, FC DH Kosice's goal looked a bit too open when Eugen Poláček came free, but Alfred Škultéty reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 45 minutes into the match, Mšk Iskra Petržalka's Michal Paškál sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alfred Škultéty narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alfred Škultéty took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michal Paškál, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eugen Poláček stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Michal Paškál had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 54 minutes into the game, Mšk Iskra Petržalka's Michal Paškál nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alfred Škultéty made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Michal Paškál received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Alfred Škultéty tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 63 minutes into the match, Mšk Iskra Petržalka's goal looked a bit too open when Marek Sisák came free, but Filip Vičík reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ján Chrašc's late challenge caught a Mšk Iskra Petržalka's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ján Chrašc helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to FC DH Kosice getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Ján Chrašc hit a great ball. 66 minutes into the match, FC DH Kosice's goalkeeper Alfred Škultéty had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Michal Paškál. The supporters of FC DH Kosice booed when Mšk Iskra Petržalka was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lubáš Piruch didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee ignored Mšk Iskra Petržalka's protests and gave Peter Dančiak a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Mšk Iskra Petržalka's Peter Dančiak got a free kick in the 95th minute. After 98 minutes Mšk Iskra Petržalka's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ján Chrašc who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Ján Chrašc got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Filip Vičík quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. FC DH Kosice's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
