Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Marek Sisák got the match started through his kick off. Alfred Škultéty showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dušan Lopata, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Gabriel Urdák received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Róbert Samák tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maroš Poláček sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dušan Lopata recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lukáš Kvietik during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Lukáš Kvietik kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Gabriel Urdák took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Róbert Samák. Róbert Samák dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Gabriel Urdák received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Róbert Samák tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maroš Poláček fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfred Škultéty having to interfere. With an all-out effort, MŠK Žilina's Alfred Škultéty threw himself towards the right post 35 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dušan Lopata, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. MŠK Žilina's Dušan Tobiarčík shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 37th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Alfred Škultéty but with some difficulty. Maroš Poláček succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 39th playminute. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dušan Lopata was the one to do the kick off. Lukáš Kvietik kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Alfred Škultéty showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dušan Lopata in the 56th minute of the match. MŠK Žilina's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Richard Galbavý in the 58th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maroš Poláček in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfred Škultéty prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 65 minutes in the game, Marek Sisák fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Róbert Samák having to interfere. A collision led to FC DH Kosice getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Viktor Gaňa hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dušan Lopata in the 73rd minute of play forced FC DH Kosice's goalkeeper Alfred Škultéty to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dušan Lopata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfred Škultéty having to interfere. Maroš Poláček fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfred Škultéty having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dušan Lopata in the 78th minute of play forced FC DH Kosice's goalkeeper Alfred Škultéty to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maroš Poláček fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfred Škultéty having to interfere. MŠK Žilina's Róbert Samák played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marek Sisák in the 89th minute of play. If Dušan Lopata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Maroš Poláček scored 2-1 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alfred Škultéty, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. MŠK Žilina had won after a very even match.
