Spectators: 6841 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1841, VIP seats: 0) Dušan Lopata started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 6th minute Maroš Poláček shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filip Vičík saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dušan Lopata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Filip Vičík tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Maroš Poláček's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Filip Vičík was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. In the 13th minute, Lukáš Kvietik left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MŠK Žilina fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Dušan Lopata took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Filip Vičík. Filip Vičík dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Mšk Iskra Petržalka's Filip Vičík played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dušan Lopata in the 21st minute of play. Lubáš Piruch hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Filip Vičík came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by MŠK Žilina's Maroš Poláček. But to his dismay, Maroš Poláček quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dušan Lopata in the 31st minute of play forced Mšk Iskra Petržalka's goalkeeper Filip Vičík to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dušan Lopata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half MŠK Žilina were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eugen Poláček stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Róbert Samák came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Mšk Iskra Petržalka's Eugen Poláček. But to his dismay, Eugen Poláček quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michal Paškál in the 59th minute of play forced MŠK Žilina's goalkeeper Róbert Samák to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 60 minutes into the match, MŠK Žilina's goal looked a bit too open when Eugen Poláček came free, but Róbert Samák reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lukáš Kvietik kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Eugen Poláček fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Róbert Samák having to interfere. Mšk Iskra Petržalka's Filip Vičík played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dušan Lopata in the 69th minute of play. Dušan Lopata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maroš Poláček fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filip Vičík having to interfere. Pavol Bauer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Filip Vičík read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. 89 minutes into the game, Michal Paškál was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mšk Iskra Petržalka's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MŠK Žilina the free kick. After a rather tough play, Mšk Iskra Petržalka's Michal Paškál got a free kick in the 89th minute. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Mšk Iskra Petržalka's goalkeeper Filip Vičík, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Dušan Lopata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maroš Poláček received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Filip Vičík tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match was over MŠK Žilina could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Mšk Iskra Petržalka throughout the match.
