The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute Róbert Chlebec shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Róbert Tomčík saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Róbert Chlebec had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Erik Kiripolský's late challenge caught a Hrabovec's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Erik Kiripolský helped the player get up and apologised. After 10 played minutes AO Xeros Unicef Poprad got a freekick which was hit by Erik Kiripolský. Aurel Kohútik received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Miroslav Chmeľ tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Róbert Chlebec had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Róbert Chlebec fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Róbert Tomčík having to interfere. Róbert Tomčík took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Krasňan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 24 minutes into the match, Hrabovec's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Krasňan came free, but Róbert Tomčík reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hrabovec's Ivan Karaš got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ivan Karaš stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ivan Karaš received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Miroslav Chmeľ tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ivan Karaš might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Miroslav Chmeľ. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ivan Karaš ran back to his position shaking his head. 59 minutes into the match, AO Xeros Unicef Poprad's goal looked a bit too open when Aurel Kohútik came free, but Miroslav Chmeľ reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Róbert Chlebec could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Róbert Tomčík made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Hrabovec's zone, Daniel Krasňan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Róbert Tomčík came out of the goal and Daniel Krasňan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ivan Karaš during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ivan Karaš kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. After 73 minutes of play, Hrabovec's Ivan Karaš made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Miroslav Chmeľ was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Krištof Petruš during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Krištof Petruš kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. In the 79th minute, Róbert Chlebec got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ivan Karaš's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Miroslav Chmeľ read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. Aurel Kohútik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Róbert Chlebec received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Róbert Tomčík tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Róbert Tomčík showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Krasňan, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. AO Xeros Unicef Poprad's Daniel Krasňan got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 94 played minutes Hrabovec got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Karaš. Róbert Chlebec might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Róbert Tomčík. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Róbert Chlebec ran back to his position shaking his head. AO Xeros Unicef Poprad played a much better game than Hrabovec and deserved their victory. The Hrabovec players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
