Spectators: 8046 (Terracing: 6043, Seating: 1853, VIP seats: 150) Michal Penkala came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Nové Zámky's Peter Kapráľ. But to his dismay, Peter Kapráľ quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 7 minutes into the match, FC Kanál Grázel's goal looked a bit too open when Peter Kapráľ came free, but Michal Penkala reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Michal Penkala took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peter Kapráľ, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Michal Penkala showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Radovan Cifra in the 14th minute of the match. Nové Zámky's Radovan Cifra got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 17th minute of the game. One of FC Kanál Grázel:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Nové Zámky:s goal. In the 19th minute there was a penalty for Nové Zámky. Igor Jurkemik stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Michal Penkala. 0-2. FC Kanál Grázel's Michal Penkala played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Radovan Cifra in the 24th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Marek Harmanec managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nové Zámky's supporters rose to their feet, but Marek Harmanec was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Michal Penkala breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 32nd minute Martin Husák collided with an opponent which caused him a fractured collar bone. After 33 minutes, Rudolf Suchý mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Kanál Grázel and the Nové Zámky players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to FC Kanál Grázel getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Rudolf Suchý hit a great ball. In the 34th minute of the match Igor Jurkemik sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Michal Penkala skillfully saved the ball. In the 35thth minute of the game Radovan Cifra who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Kanál Grázel's Michal Penkala was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Radovan Cifra in the 37th minute of play forced FC Kanál Grázel's goalkeeper Michal Penkala to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oto Šechný received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Marek Bega tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of FC Kanál Grázel booed when Nové Zámky was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Peter Kapráľ didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gustáv Schuster recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Radovan Cifra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Michal Penkala showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marek Harmanec, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. In the 50th minute Nové Zámky were awarded a corner. Igor Jurkemik went to the cornerflag to take it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Oto Šechný made the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Kanál Grázel's goalkeeper Michal Penkala, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in FC Kanál Grázel's zone, Radovan Cifra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Michal Penkala came out of the goal and Radovan Cifra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After recieving a nice pass, Nové Zámky's Igor Jurkemik tried to score from far away in the 63rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 67th minute, Radovan Cifra ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Michal Penkala was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Radovan Cifra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Michal Penkala made a huge save. If Radovan Cifra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Radovan Cifra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Michal Penkala made a huge save. In the 89th minute, Gustáv Schuster got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ondrej Líška kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded Nové Zámky left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than FC Kanál Grázel.
