The audience thought a goal was coming when Matúš Hubočan got free with Stanislav Svatoš in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 30th minute Radovan Feldek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marek Jakubiak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Republika Východu's Viliam Blažko got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Stanislav Svatoš was a little too slow when Matúš Hubočan got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 34th minute. The score was now 2-1. Radovan Feldek's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marek Jakubiak read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play.
