Ivan Kukan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexander Hrnčiar in the 3rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, FK Dirty Dogs's Matej Prokop got a free kick in the 8th minute. Matej Backo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vincent Izák, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 13th minute of the match Norberd Draškovský sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ivan Kukan skillfully saved the ball. In the 13th minute, Matúš Ernst hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th minute, Baghdad Bruins's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Viktor Kusý fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Ivan Kukan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Viktor Kusý sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Viktor Kusý got free with Ivan Kukan in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 34th minute, but Ivan Kukan got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Baghdad Bruins hanging dry this time. If Igor Kukla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matej Backo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zdeno Korach's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in FK Dirty Dogs's zone, Igor Kukla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Matej Backo came out of the goal and Igor Kukla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alexander Hrnčiar to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Baghdad Bruins booed when FK Dirty Dogs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roman Špaňo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zdeno Korach recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpected shot in the 57th minute by Igor Kukla got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Matej Backo stood somewhat misplaced when Igor Kukla came free in front of goal and shot 0-1 to the left of him in the 57 minute. After a rather tough play, FK Dirty Dogs's Ladislav Šajtlavý got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Matej Backo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zdeno Korach in the 68th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, Baghdad Bruins's goal looked a bit too open when Pavol Borovský came free, but Ivan Kukan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alexander Hrnčiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 83 minutes, Alexander Hrnčiar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FK Dirty Dogs's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexander Hrnčiar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 89 played minutes FK Dirty Dogs got a freekick which was hit by Pavol Borovský. Baghdad Bruins's Zdeno Korach got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 91 minutes, Igor Kukla mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Baghdad Bruins and the FK Dirty Dogs players grew even worse after the yellow card.
